Katrina Kaif – a young achiever, a woman of substance & a role model for several women.

Prernaa Verma - She is bold, she is fearless, she is a national level basketball player and she is affected by cancer. Prernaa has been struggling with the deadly disease since the past 11 years. But that has not slowed her down or lessened her zest for life.

Both the women have set an example for millions with their passion & dedication. One has wooed the hearts of the country and the other is all set to touch the hearts of millions with her book.

On Dec 16th, Katrina & Prernaa will come together to launch the book written by the latter. The book recounts Prernaa’s first hand experiences of battling Cancer & will prove to be a guiding light for others suffering from the deadly disease.

Says Prernaa, the mother of two daughters, “My journey through the past 11 years has taught me that being prepared mentally and physically is very critical to deal with the monster called “Cancer”.  Through this book I am sharing the steps and philosophy which helped me fight and manage it so that others don’t have to go through same challenges that I went through. As readers of the book will realise it is very important for the patient and their relatives to be fully aware and knowledge is truly the key. I am excited to be associated with CPAA in this breast cancer awareness and hope my book will help numerous patients manage the disease better.”

CPAA (Cancer Patients AIDS Association) has been instrumental in supporting many women like Prernaa for almost 40 years with all kinds of financial and emotional support and ever glad to be associated with such a cause.

Says Mr. Y K Sapru – Chairman and CEO – CPAA ,"For the last 40 years Cancer Patients Aid Association has been working towards Total Management of Cancer patients as most medical institutes focus only on tumour or malignancy while in cancer around 60% of the problem is social, psychological & economic. This is even more so in cases of breast cancer. Prernaa Verma in her book about eleven years of her experience with cancer has very vividly shown how bravely she fought every problem related to breast cancer & came out victorious against this dreaded disease. The book that’s been penned in Marathi, will be launched on 16th of Dec at Ravindra Natya Mandir .

Hitting the bookstores soon, this first hand narrative will definitely touch the hearts of millions and inspire many who are suffering from cancer across the nation.

The event will also see 500 odd women from all walks of life coming together to attend the Breast Cancer Awareness camp and interact with a panel of esteemed doctors.

Well, she is definitely trying to make a difference in her own way and we hope, true to her name, Prernaa inspires many other women to battle every challenge in life!
